There are 2 main types of Tourist Visas for Australia.

1. is where you apply for a short stay 3 month eta visa (valid for 12 months)

2. is where you apply for a 6 month or 12 month visa

If you are from an eta visa approved country, then you can apply online for the ETA VISA only.

If you are from a non eta approved country, you must go to the australian embassy.

If you need a 6 month or 12 month visa, you need to contact the australian embassy for more information and you will need to have a medical.

Note: These visas are sometimes called the Visitor Visa or the visitor eta visa or a Holiday Visa or the holiday eta visa. They are all the same thing as the tourist eta visa.
